Michael V. Dieter graduated from Pacific University, College of Optometry in Forest Grove, Oregon in 1975. Following his formal education, he served as an optometrist and Captain in the U.S. Air Force from 1975-1978 while stationed at Wurtsmith AFB in Oscoda, Michigan and Pease AFB in Portsmouth, New Hampshire. After leaving the Air Force, he opened private practices in St. Peter and Le Center, Minnesota and practiced general optometry for eight years. In 1986, he sold his practice and moved his family to his birthplace of Roseau, Minnesota. With offices in Roseau and Warroad, MN, he practiced in partnership with close friend and colleague Dr. Devaughn Erickson. In 2014, he sold his practices, moved to Maple Grove and opened the Dry Eye Clinic in the Arbor Lakes Medical Building, limited to the diagnosis and treatment of dry eye. He brings more than thirty years experience to his profession. Dr. Dieter is a member of the Minnesota Optometric Association and the American Optometric Association. He has traveled on numerous eye care mission trips to remote locations in Guatemala and Ukraine. Dr. Dieter shares his life with his wife with whom they have had 5 children and 12 grandchildren. His pursuits are faith in Christ, family, reading, journaling, cabin time, and fishing on the Lake of the Woods. Clinical practice is his main emphasis, but he also enjoys investigative research, corporate consulting, writing and seminar presentation in reference to dry eye.
